In March and April, four packages containing headless chickens were left in the yard of a Franklin Street residence in Westport. On April 13, the victim reported to investigators that another box had been left on the property and the suspect fled on foot.
Officers were able to track down Ajamu Obataiye of New York City at the Saugatuck Train Station and taken into custody. An arrest warrant application for Obataiye for the previous four incidents was subsequently approved.
On Tuesday, May 14, Obataiye was arrested on the outstanding arrest warrant and transported to Westport Police headquarters and charged with four counts of breach of peace and four counts of littering or dumping.
Obataiye was unable to post $75,000 bond and he was transported to Norwalk Court the following morning for his arraignment.
